Eaton claims $120 million in revenue from Defense purchase

NEW YORK (Associated Press) - Industrial manufacturer Eaton Corp. said Monday it will gain a total of about $120 million in revenue from the Department of Defense’s purchase of 167 Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey tiltrotor airplanes.

The contract for the purchases runs through 2012. The company said under the terms of the deal, 141 airplanes will be used by the U.S. Marine Corps and 26 will used by to U.S. Air Force.

The full procurement of the V-22 planes is expected to total 458 airplanes with an estimated cost of $54 billion, Eaton said, adding it could add $320 million to its revenue over the life BankWest Credit Cards of the procurement program.

Eaton supplies airplane parts to the military.
