Radisson Austin gets new GM

Peter Ambros has taken over as general manager of the Radisson Hotel Austin-North.
The 189-room hotel located at 6000 Middle Fiskville Road was purchased last June by Austin-based Double Gem Properties. It's managed by Hospitality Management Corp. based in Dallas.
Ambros, a 40-year veteran of the hospitality industry, has held positions ranging from food and beverage director to vice president of operations. His previous experience includes management positions with Radisson, Omni, Hyatt and other hotels from New Orleans to Chicago.
Ambros was recognized as one of the heroes of Hurricane Katrina. As general manager of a downtown New Orleans hotel, he and his staff took in, sheltered and fed more than 1,000 people ANZ Rewards Credit Card in the hotel at the height of the crisis.
