Arguments against voter ID are flimsy

Democrats’ argument against voter identification laws is laughable at best and tragic at worst. It is a prime example of the liberal press bias that the argument is not roundly denounced. The press could restore some much-needed credibility by reporting the issue accurately: Democrats are fighting attempts to eliminate fraud because they know that most fraud helps them win elections. The U.S. Supreme Court rightly saw through the flimsy arguments and voted in favor of allowing voter identification laws.

— I would love to know how many elections the Democrats truly have won without all the dead voters and people voting in different districts. Bring on voter ID with pictures as soon as possible. JD

— If we assume that voter fraud is as bad as this letter writer claims, then we also can assume that the party in power was elected through voter fraud.

For example, the St. Louis City offices mostly are held by Democrats, therefore the elected officials of the city of St. Louis must have use fraud to win those elections. I’m sure the letter writer could not argue against that. When we look at the rest of Missouri, we find a different story. The letter writer claims that Democrats win elections using fraud, but, using the same line of thought, the Republicans must use fraud because they control both the state houses and the governor’s seat. I really think that voter fraud is much ado about nothing. phil

— I’m in favor of voter ID requirements so long as the IDs are easy to obtain and don’t cause any undue financial burdens. Voting is a right, not a privilege, and any attempt to make it more difficult for those with less financial resources to obtain the proper ID to vote is unconstitutional. I know,right….
